Glenn Freeman, of OgreOgress, writes: Among his earliest surviving compositions, the intricate and skillful counterpoint present in these 1935 works reminds one of Beethoven (and Bach) while offering a glimpse into Hovhaness's future style. These 2 works form only part of a very large chamber music recording project to be released on OgreOgress, which will include 14 world premiere recordings.
